Because we love passing on the word about anything and everything that involves the word "free", Bostonist would like to inform you of some free burritos coming your way today. For those that don’t follow the going-ons of local eateries like Bostonist, you might not be aware that The Wrap restaurant chain, with all their sandwiches, burritos and smoothies, has gone through an identity crisis and has become “Boloco" (We heard this means "Boston Local Company"? Can any reader out there confirm?) with their new tagline" inspired burritos." To celebrate their new name and new logo, the stores will be giving away free burritos yesterday from 11am-4pm. Head to one of the three participating locations and grab a freebie, but lets not be greedy, kids. One per customer, puh-lease. If you can't make it today, don't fret. There are more free burrito days in the future. And according to this Globe article a few months ago, burrito places are invading Boston. And we thought the competition between the dueling relatives of Anna's and Boca Grande was bad.

Mama Bear Jen Chung made the top five. In fact, she’s number three. Bostonist recently stumbled upon our very own Katie listed on David Krug’s site as a “2006 Sleeper” for the top ten most powerful women in the blogosphere. In the spirit of High Fidelity, we really can’t get enough of these lists. The liberalcowboy (David Krug) put together one of the many lists on his site and titled it “10 Most Powerful Women in Blogging.” Being vain, as we bloggers are sometimes known to be, the posting was hit and made it half-way around the ‘net. Katie reports that when she got caught googling herself last week, the Krug list was a top hit. We’re happy to know that she’ll potentially be knocking back some shots with the Pats in the post-season. Stays tuned for the next Bostonist Happy Hour, when she promises to drunk-dial some sushi afterward and do a “wicked sweet” post on it. We don't quite know what to make of Katie's being a sleeper pick for '06, especially since number eight on the list of 10 is Joi Ito, a guy.
Monday morning. Back to work. Where's the weekend? It won't be Friday for another couple days. Don't worry. This week Bostonist is helping you get over the hump. Bostonist will be holding our second-ever Happy Hour Wednesday night at the Middlesex in Cambridge. Please do not misconstrue our assertions, we're not promising humping, only a way to get over-the-hump. The Middlesex Lounge will play host to the Bostonist Happy Hour on September 14, 2005 starting...
It was just seven months ago when Bostonist was released to the general public. The Gothamist network has added siblings almost as fast as pandas have been born around the country. Bostonist is holding our second-ever Happy Hour to belatedly celebrate our half birthday. This time we’re taking the show across the river.
One last reminder for those people who can't remember what they had for dinner last night, nevermind something like a Happy Hour announced last week.
Start off the upcoming holiday weekend early on Thursday night at the first (of many, hopefully) Bostonist Happy Hour at the Beantown Pub. Put it in your Blackberry so you won't forget (or just write it on your good ol' desk calendar like the technologically savvy Bostonist). We hope to see you all there!
Now that summer is officially here, Bostonist has decided to celebrate with a beer. We'd like to invite you out there to join us for a few drinks at the very first Bostonist Happy Hour next week. Stop by and say hello, give us feedback/ideas, and of course inform us of the grammatical errors you've come across on the site during our first few months. We might have to call into work sick Friday if you come out and give us good reason. We hope you will come out and kick off the Independence Day weekend right, on Thursday!
