Movember madness continues with Bostonist taking great leaps to link the Top Ten Mustaches of all time with our own fine city. Bet you never knew we had so many mustache connections, even beyond Wade Boggs. 1. Burt Reynolds Mr. Reynolds has apparently played a Boston policeman in not just one but two ridiculous movies you've never heard of. Score two for the force! 2. Tom Selleck Tom Selleck went out on a limb to......

--Melvin Heard was once an Assistant DA working for Dan Conley. Now he faces charges of beating his own fiancée. The charges have cost Heard his job. DA Dan Conley said in a statement: "On the morning of Monday, Aug. 20, immediately upon hearing of Melvin Heard’s arrest, I ordered him placed on unpaid leave. Our office undertook its own inquiry into the matter and four days later, on Aug. 24, he was terminated." Heard's......

As if the Charlie Weis gastric-bypass malpractice trial weren't close enough to an episode of Boston Legal, the judge declared a mistrial following a dramatic courtroom scene. No, the scene didn't involve Tom Brady. A juror became ill and collapsed. Kelley-created terrors that await us later in the month. Yes, just as we were fully immersed in the enjoyment of the perfect legal drama, a commercial break brought us crashing back to reality, as we learned that July......

With all the important, ground-breaking legal news that seems to come out of our state, you might be forgiven for thinking that lawyers and judges regularly get to see unique, brand-new, revolutionary cases and legal arguments. In fact, Bostonist can assure you that the great bulk of the work that a Massachusetts lawyer does is about as entertaining as, say, an episode of Boston Legal. For that reason, dear reader, we feel we should bring......

Forget what everyone else says. Bostonist loves the new Old Navy tunic ads (pictured at right), and not just because they use "Bust a Move," that classic rap song from our youth. We may be crazy, but we think the lyrics include a subtle, Boston-friendly bit of vocabulary. Bostonist has a complex relationship with mass-media offerings that try to pander to our fair city: most attempts to play up Boston-ness feel heavy-handed and contrived to......
