Boston TV: We Think They Can Dance

Fox's hit show So You Think You Can Dance (think American Idol minus the caterwauling and plus epic foot injuries) held its first Boston auditions this spring. The visit was a success for local dancers, with two of the show's twenty finalists hailing from the Bay State. Bostonist is totally addicted to SYTYCD, a reality show that doesn't rely on manufactured drama and instead focuses on talented contestants performing amazing feats of athleticism and skill. Many of the dancers have trained since they were toddlers, and it shows in the intricate routines they somehow master each week. Dancers are eliminated weekly, first by a panel of judges, then, when the show is down to its top 10, by whomever receives the fewest votes from the show's viewers. Bostonist is here to catch you up on the story so far for both Massachusetts dancers so that our readers can tune in and vote for them. (Bostonist has no shame about being a total homer.)

BostonTV: Alohomora, Rowling's Brain!

The round glasses and light-up wands are tucked away, the capes and polyester scarves folded and hidden from sight. The scars on foreheads are (hopefully) washed off. BostonTV: Avec Silver Fox

What ho, foodies! We here at Bostonist are no slouches when it comes to watching the kitchenly art on television, but news of an upcoming travel/eating series by one of our favorite chefs set our hearts aflutter. Which silver fox will inspire lust and encourage us to put away the Chinese takeout menu? (And no, it's not Hubert Keller, the minx.)

Calling Obama the head of the first nerd administration ever, proud Son of Brookline Hodgman quizzed the President on canon and ended with a Vulcan salute.

Bravo's had a rough time recently: the complete FAIL that is The Fashion Show and far too much Real Housewives of Wherever made us wonder how the network that brought us The Rachel Zoe Project, Project Runway, and perennial favorite Top Chef could fall so low, so fast. Things (maybe) change this week! Make sure to catch the premiere of Bostonist favorite, Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D List tonight at 10 PM. Stay tuned for our Top Chef Masters rundown on Wednesday.

BostonTV: Welcome Back, Conan Old Boy!

BostonTV Wants to See Top Chef: Boston

Homeboy Patrick went home early, Team Rainbow fell apart into individual rays (of which only Jamie remains), and now Top Chef is in the home stretch. Restaurant Wars came and went uneventfully. Only a handful of cheftestants remain. This season takes place in multi-cultural New York City, making the challenges a bit more creative than last year's foray into the Midwest. Challenge number one: cook a dish inspired by a neighborhood in the city. Most recent challenge: cook a dish inspired by an NFL team. Dildo Beach Club Jeff went home, tears were shed, Team Europe soldiers on.

BostonTV: Fringe Is the New Lost

Lost triumphantly returned to television this week, turning even the most composed fans into shuddering masses of confused jelly. Questions abound—is Locke really dead? Who wants Aaron and why is he so important? Can Sawyer not wear a shirt for the rest of the season, please? It would be easy to write off work or school and just re-watch the show from the beginning, hopelessly taking notes and trying not to freak out over polar bear sightings. This, however, would be a mistake. Instead of wasting time on the black hole that is Lost fandom, why not try another J.J. Abrams show, Fringe?
