Boston Police arrested a 26 year-old male from Arlington for operating under the influence at approximately 12:40 a.m. on Sunday. Officers observed a Honda Civic colliding with a taxi cab near Arlington Street and Columbus Ave and approached both operators to help. Neither driver needed medical attention. Officers smelled alcohol on the driver of the Honda and observed his "speech was slurred, balance compromised and eyes glassy." He admitted havng two beers and failed a field sobriety test. A 24-year old Holbrook man will be arraigned Monday in Dorchester District Court for drunk driving and leaving the scene of an accident, and other charges after crashing his car this morning on I-93 in Dorchester and leaving his passenger hospitalized. The suspect matched the description of an alleged drug dealer and was observed putting some "unidentified objects" in her mouth. -- A 24-year old from Quincy went to court to answer to charges he allegedly robbed Paddy Barry’s pub in Quincy. He arrived carrying phones and jewelry he allegedly stole from a Quincy home Monday. He was held without bail for at least 30 days. [WCVB] -- Former state senator Anthony Galluccio's parole begins July 14 after one member of the Massachusetts Parole Board approved his release Thursday. Galluccio went to jail in January for a probation violation. His parole requires he attend AA meetings and take regular drug and alcohol tests. [Globe] more ›

  • Police responded to reports of a person with a knife near Forbes and Centre Streets in Jamaica Plain. A witness, who would become the victim, told police he heard yelling from a second or third floor of a building. A male voice reportedly said “What! You want some of this?!” The male suspect came outside to confront the victim with a knife. The suspect charged and the victim fled while the suspect yelled “That’s right, you better run!” The suspect was arrested and charged with assault by means of a dangerous weapon. [BPDNews.com]
  • A suspect was arrested and charged with unarmed robbery, larceny over $250.00 and receiving stolen property in Roxbury on Friday morning. The suspect knew the victim and was with her before the robbery allegedly happened. They argued and he took her purse and her suitcase. The victim's phone was in her purse so she couldn't call 911 until she borrowed a passerby's phone. After being provided with a description, officers located the suspect. As they approached him, he said "To be honest with you guys, I just found this down the street. I looked inside and saw all types of cool [stuff].” [BPDNews.com]

-- A Dorchester letter carrier was attacked and slashed in an attempted robbery. The victim fought off the assailant, who was armed with a knife and ended up with nothing. The incident took place on Mount Vernon Terrace at about 2:20 p.m. on Thursday. The Herald described the suspect as "a clean shaven black male, with a black watch cap, black hoodie, sweatshirt and a diamond earring in his right ear." -- Bostonist knows the young people will use fake IDs. We hope they don't. An 18 year-old from West Roxbury tried to buy alcohol with a fake ID at Richard’s Wine & Spirits in Wolcott Square. The suspect produced the ID during the transaction and was unable to spell the last name on the card when a clerk asked he do it.
