Bostonist loves stories that prove that the internet is useful for more than virtual poker and porn, and this one's a doozy. When legendary local band Boston lost their frontman, Brad Delp, to suicide last year, lifelong Boston fan Tommy DeCarlo wanted to pay tribute to how much the band's music meant to him. So his daughter created a MySpace page of him singing karaoke to a few of the band's hits. Somehow, through......

--Heavy winds and rain hammered the state last night. Revere was hit particularly hard. [Fox 25] --A Good Samaritan died in Randolph when his car rolled back on him. He had stopped to help another car that was stalled on the road. [WCVB] --Beatlejuice, the band former Boston frontman Brad Delp sang for, is looking for a new singer a year after Delp killed himself. But finding someone else who comes close to Delp's......

When much-loved Boston frontman Brad Delp committed suicide, he left behind an estate mess that his first wife, his ex-girlfriend, his fiancée, and adult children are trying to sort out. In his will, Delp left his home in Atkinson, New Hampshire, to another ex-girlfriend, Patricia Komor. According to everyone who knows Delp, he hadn't seen Komor in 11 years. The other women in Delp's life are understandably surprised. Micki Delp, Brad Delp's ex-wife and mother......

We're guessing most of you are hungover from St. Patrick's Day. We are too. But still, we're going to muddle on through our green haze and give you (drum roll please...) this Week In -ists. We start with SFist which broke the -ist record for comments with nearly 500 comments on a post about our Mayor's girlfriend. She responded back on charges that she's not a "girl's girl" and, whoo boy-- the floodgates? They......

With news coming out last week that Brad Delp had passed, and more news this week that indicates his death was actually a suicide, we got to thinking about some other Boston music icons that left us too soon. Mark Sandman comes to mind, a 1999 heart attack took the Morphine front man at age 46. This Friday Flashback is a look at Morphine's 1997 video for "Early to Bed."......

The Brad Delp story continues. Delp's family announced today that his death wasn't as quiet as it first appeared. Delp killed himself last week. According to the Herald, toxicology tests revealed that Delp killed himself with carbon monoxide poisoning. He left two notes behind, but the contents haven't been released. Just a few days ago, we praised Delp for not being a Behind the Music kind of guy. And he still isn't. But his suicide......

As you probably guessed from Bostonist's comment thread, there are many fans of the late Boston singer Brad Delp, who died last Friday. Non-Boston papers are offering their evaluation of Delp's contribution to music. The LA Weekly offered a perfect analysis of Delp's skills, which somehow managed to be distinct and anonymous at the same time: Most of us wouldn’t recognize Delp from a photo, yet his vocal frequencies have been burned into the American......

A brief report appeared tonight indicating that the lead singer of Boston, Brad Delp, died this afternoon, taking his unmistakable voice with him. He was 55. Police say there was no foul play involved. About the only oddities in the death were Delp's young age and the fact that the frontman for Boston died in New Hampshire. All Boston's official website says right now is "We've just lost the nicest guy in rock and roll."......
