Think T workers spend all their time texting? Think again. An MBTA employee hip-checked a would-be robber at the Broadway station, then held the suspect until police arrived. The MBTA worker did not wish to be identified. We hope that the worker does not somehow get into trouble for actually doing something useful on the job.

Bostonist was on the phone with our buddy Keith on Thursday, chatting about the upcoming Boston Pops spring season. The initial season announcement had just crossed our desk at Bostonist HQ, and we wanted to see what Keith thought of a spring and summer that will include jazz, Broadway, a season-long tribute to Leonard Bernstein, and appearances by Natalie Cole, Natalie Merchant, and Amanda Palmer.

This event sounds freaking crazy, even crazier than Sxip's Hour of Charm, and that was a grand old time. "Titler" will host a show featuring Red Peters from "Howard Stern," comedian Shane Mauss, and the Yo-Yo People, who do exactly what you think they will do. The Beehive, 10 pm-midnight. Okay, okay, we gave the Somerville Journal a little heat for a boring blotter headline, but they definitely have our attention with the following: "Witness Says Knife Suspect Was Eating a Chicken Leg With Sauce."

Unlike the Top 10 Most Commented stories, the top 10 favorites represented a selection of all the fun, the playful, and just plain odd that this city has to offer. The space-saver war continues. Yesterday, Donovan Slack followed up on the city's attempts to get a few residents of South Boston to stop saving parking spaces after a snowstorm, even though they can keep the space for 48 hours.

--A man who was shot on Friday night in Roxbury died at the hospital yesterday. Ruel Davis, 20, was shot on Walnut Avenue and Rockland Street. Davis' murderer was cold-blooded. Definitely a sad announcement to make: Lawrence, Massachusetts, native Robert Goulet died tonight at age 73. He was an international star who catapulted into fame in his 1960 Broadway musical role as Lancelot in Camelot. Originally befallen to stage fright, he was encouraged by his parents in his early teens to continue performing.
