Levine will not only resign as planned in September, he's also withdrawn from all of his six scheduled 2011 Tanglewood appearances this summer. Replacements for those shows will be named in June. The Boston Symphony Orchestra unveils UnderScore Fridays this week on January 14. According to BSO Managing Director Mark Volpe, UnderScore Fridays is an effort to bring the BSO to everyone. “UnderScore Fridays gives us a chance to respond to our patrons who want to hear the BSO, but who need options that fit into their busy, high-demand lifestyles,” said Volpe. UnderScore Fridays is a three-show program - January 14, February 11, and March 5 - that allows concertgoers a chance to hear the conductor discuss each program and interact with guest artists.
