CC Sabathia may lead the MLB in wins with 16, but he's 0-4 in 2011 against the Red Sox after Saturday's 10-5 loss in Boston. Sabathia (16-6) came up short as the Sox pulled into a first place tie with the Yankees at 69-42. Boston led 2-0 after three innings and erupted for five runs in the fourth inning for a 7-2 lead. Jacoby Ellsbury was a constant nuisance for Sabathia and the Yankees as he was 2-4 with six RBI. Ellsbury drove Carl Crawford in with a third-inning sacrifice fly. He broke the game open with a three-run home run, his 19th, in the fourth inning. Ellsbury's two-run single finished New York off in the eighth inning.

Tim Thomas turned back all 27 Dallas shots for his first shutout of 2009-10.
It wasn’t too long ago when the Yankees came to town for a five game series that was a make or break situation for the Sox. But in historic Yankee fashion, they threw us over the proverbial barrel and violated us. But now the tables are turned and it feels good to be on top. Well, in second place and first in line for the Wild Card. But still, it could be worse. We could be the Yankees. Last night, Liza Minnelli’s rendition of “New York, New York” was heard echoing through out the streets of the Bronx when the Yankees lost to the Red Sox, 11-3.
