--The last thing we need, especially with a presidential election coming up, is for someone to add fuel to the flag-burning debate. On Thursday, someone in Natick destroyed a solar-powered trash container by stuffing it with American flags and setting them on fire. The person who did it must be trying to offend as many people as possible - the left by wrecking an environmental device, and the right by burning flags. We are all......

--Looks like someone's parents aren't gonna be happy when they get home. Teenagers in Falmouth got busted last night for a party that was impressive in size and scope. WCVB reports, "Police said they found a keg of beer, empty liquor bottles and a marijuana bong at the house." (Is there any other kind of bong?) The law managed to take in 22 teenagers. --Other teenagers had a surprise of the more gruesome variety. Two......

After one man turned up dead in Mount Hope Cemetery, the BPD reports that a 19-year-old man was found shot in Roxbury. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. More details are emerging about the dead man found above ground at the cemetery. He was in his 20s, and he was found naked. (Someone didn't want to leave evidence?) They found a litany of offenses showing that this city employee had no business being behind the wheel of that plow. The city hired him in 2005 and assigned him to drive heavy equipment, even......

Judging by the looks of it, the Bush Administration wishes that the nation would just forget that American soldiers are fighting and dying in Iraq. But they haven't forgotten in Boston. After several years of war, yesterday's protest on Boston Common drew what the Globe estimated to be several hundred people. The Globe also reported that the "turnout at today's event was better than expected." The war has been hitting Massachusetts directly. Keith Callahan,......

John Sedgwick will be reading at Emmanuel Church Tuesday, January 9th, at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door and can be purchased via the Massachusetts Historical Society website or by calling 617-646-0560. It's hard for a Sedgwick to shake off the family name. Any Sedgwick would feel the pressure of the family history even if it weren't for the legendary Edie Sedgwick, who blazed her way to fame thanks......

The not-so-secret secret that a ride around the lagoon on a swan boat on a steaming New England afternoon is a great way for a tourist to feel comfortable or a Bostonian to feel nostalgic for childhood when they first climbed aboard the bike pedal style powered boats. The Swan Boats launch every May and are taken out of the water and stored at Labor Day – USA today reports, via the AP, that the......
