The Spelling Bee seems to be a hotter fad than leggings and skirts. The "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" is currently running at the Wilbur Theatre downtown, Spellbound will be in your mailbox tomorrow if you add it to your netflix queue, and there's even that pesky frosted mini-wheats commercial featuring a spelling comp. Nothing can ever go off without a twist of irony in this city, can it? It seems that there is some issue with the tree lighting ceremony scheduled for this Thursday night at the Boston Common. For the last 63 years, the city of Boston has lit a big Christmas tree in the city and for the last 34 years, the white spruce has been sent as a gift from our friends in Nova Scotia.......
