The shark-filled summer of 2010 has made a return appearance in 2011 off the coast of the Cape. On Wednesday, Chatham harbormaster Stuart Smith said a 10-foot great white shark appeared few hundred yards off the coast of Chatham's Monomoy Point. Smith credited the citing to a Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries crew that was deploying two acoustic radio receivers that will monitor sharks. Guess the gear works. As you know, multiple sharks have been observed off Cape Cod in the past few weeks.
