Interleague play is upon us and it begins in Philadelphia against the Phillies. This is perfect timing because playing the Rays and Yankees is so easy that the Red Sox need more good teams to compete with.
Things were going so well for the Red Sox. A three-game winning streak that included a two-game sweep of Minnesota at least made us feel better about our underacheiving club. Thank Jon Lester for Thursday's 6-2 win. Lester, who reportedly owns the best winning percentage (.719) ever for a pitcher with at least 100 starts, completed the game after allowing six hits and striking out nine. Kevin Youkilis powered the offense with four RBI.
