Steven Spader was convicted of murder today for killing Kimberly Cates with a machete and maiming her daughter Jaimie in 2009. Spader faces life in prison for the murder conviction. He was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder, one for killing during a burglary, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, tampering with witnesses and informants, and conspiracy to commit burglary.
