The Boston Public Library is all jazzed because it wants the Copley T station's name changed to "BPL Station" or somesuch. Apparently, Mayor Menino and some local pols are behind the BPL on this, and are sponsoring legislation to have the name changed. Pro-change parties cite Boston's quaint precedent of naming T stations for nearby landmarks, a la "Suffolk Downs," "Aquarium," and "Airport." For the past five years, the T has rolling its eyes......

People are feeling jittery again. A strip mall in Ashland was evacuated earlier today – all because of a fax message to a Bank of America that included an awkward ClipArt image of a hand setting off a bomb. Turns out "the fax was sent by a marketing group for a promotion to kick off a special offer from the bank." We're not sure why marketing companies don't think before they fax. Didn't they learn......

Starbucks has decided to give you a little treat this morning by handing out free 12 oz. (or "tall" if you jive like that) Arabica coffee to celebrate its First Annual National Coffee Break. We first saw it mentioned over on boston.com on Monday but when we were accosted this morning outside Copley T station with a free copy of the Globe with an insulating Starbucks sleeve around it, it actually made Bostonist quite happy......
