Enrico M. Ponzo, 42, was arrested in Idaho on Monday some 14 years after he was indicted for racketeering, attempted murder and conspiracy to kill rivals and 17 years after he became a fugitive over drug charges from 1994. He is charged with the 1989 attempted murder of former New England crime boss Frank Salemme in Saugus. Ponzo lived in Marsing, Idaho under the assumed name of Jeffrey John Shaw and owned a dozen cows. Police retrieved 38 guns. Ponzo pleaded not guilty. [Globe], [AP via Forbes]
