Wayland Police are investigating the theft of $1,400 worth of electric toothbrushes from a CVS. Three shoplifters and the driver of the red or maroon Toyota Camry getaway car pulled off this caper on Tuesday afternoon and made off with 12 Oral B and Sonicare electric toothbrushes, said Detective Sgt. Jamie Berger, who described the toothbrushes as "high ticket items" that can be moved at "pawn shops or flea markets." We don't really understand the criminal mind here at Bostonist. But, what we find curious is this: Who would buy a toothbrush at a pawn shop or a flea market? Really. No offense to pawn shops or flea markets as many great things can be bought there. Just not a toothbrush. Contact Wayland police at 508-358-4721. All charges alleged until proven under law. [Herald] more ›

Hey, you know how if you get a CVS card, CVS will give you "bucks" for buying its overpriced crap? And sometimes little coupons print out on your receipt too? And you can use the bucks and coupons together but sometimes you have to have separate transactions to use all the bucks you've accumulated? And you always get stuck in line behind crazy people busting up their three items into three transactions for ultimate savings? Well, local lady Jamie Chase is one of those people holding up your line. Chase has mastered the clip and save, spending as little as $9 on a purchase "worth" $118 yet costing those forced to wait in line behind her complicated coupon-maximizing multiple transactions precious years of their lives, and her skills are so amazing that she merits her own Globe article that doesn't actually even reveal exactly what she is buying with all of these stupid coupons. more ›

The Globe reports on Massachusetts joining the medical revolution with the opening of a CVS in-store clinic in Medway. Nurse practitioners are on hand at these clinics to give vaccinations and treat "minor acute illnesses." As people rush to get flu shots this fall, the clinics will also be able to help. It's $59 a visit, which is more than a copay but less than a real doctor bill, and you don't have to make an appointment or wait for hours. The clinics are open 8am to 8pm weekdays and 10am to 4pm on weekends. After Medway, they're set to open in Bridgewater, Danvers, Taunton, and Tewksbury. Guess Bostonians will be going the regular medical route for a while. The clinics are licensed by the Department of Public Health. more ›
