A Massachusetts State Police helicopter landed on a baseball field in Wakefield on Thursday near Route 129. The police said two warning indicator lights came on, forcing the pilot and passenger to land near Water Street in Wakefield. The helicopter will be grounded until a precautionary check is completed.

Eight businesses in Easton face a possible three-day suspension of their liquor licenses after allegedly selling alcohol to minors during a police sting operation. Five restaurants and three liquor stores reportedy sold alcohol to minors last month, the most since selectmen started checking two times a year in 2004.
