Lawmakers from New Hampshire and Massachusetts are working to reverse cuts to the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) proposed by President Obama in the 2012 budget. LIHEAP faces a $2.5 billion cut from a budget that was $5.1 billion in 2009. In 2009, LIHEAP actually got $8.1 billion. Republican Senators Scott Brown and Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins of Maine might support it, too. [National Journal]
