The extreme heat warning was extended to 8 p.m. as it's still extremely hot out there. Logan Airport recorded a temperature of 103 degrees, matching the temperature from this date in 1926, the National Weather Service said. People who tried to beat the heat at beaches in Lynn, Nahant, and Revere Beach learned parts of all three were closed due to high bacteria levels. In another heat-related fiasco, passengers on a five-hour bus ride to New York had no air conditioning. To deal with the record-setting heat, Boston EMS workers walked the streets to assist anyone in distress. Remember to follow Bostonist on Twitter and like us on Facebook.
