Photo of the Day, November 12, 2009: Esplanade Sunset

iMatthew has a great silhouette shot from the Esplanade. The heron makes for a good subject, with the foreground rocks and background cityscape adding depth and dimension. The warm to cool gradient also adds a softness to the harsh lines of the silhouettes and gives just the right amount of "pop" to the photo.

atomicjeep has today's Film Friday shot. This Esplanade shot was taken on Fuji Superia and has great tonal qualities. The photo also has some natural vignetting which helps with the framing.What we love most about this photo however are the reflections in the foreground and the soft waves on the water.

Usually he's photographing architecture but Sunday found nubian eagle along the Charles where he captured the anticipation of Summer. This tree looks like it's ready to sprout green leafs in order to catch the warm breezes of Spring and provide shade for those wandering past. The vintage processing is spot on and the composition allows for lots of interesting secondary subjects.
