Unemployment has hit 6.9% in the state last month, the highest it's been in 15 years but still lower than the national average of 7.2%. Education and health services jobs constituted a somewhat bright (or at least less dim) spot, growing by 1.5% last year according to the Executive Office of Workforce Development.
