Exploit Boston has toyed with the format of Game Night they began collecting games to play. It was in Ball Square for a little while, The Paradise Lounge on occasion, then camped out at Common Ground in Allston for a while. But the Common Ground just didn't seem to be the right fit for Game Night. So Sooz ventured out down Harvard Ave and found a new soul for the more-or-less monthly get together. Tonight the games will be played at Soul Fire at 182 Harvard Ave in Allston (b-line and 66 bus accessible) for the second month in a row (and it could be the new home). Last month was a full house in the new venue.

Tomorrow night, July 11, is the Exploit Boston Game Night at Common Ground in Allston. The evening has grown from it's humble beginnings at True Ground in Somerville to a still modest collection at the Paradise Lounge to the current incarnation of nearly 40 games to choose from at Common Ground in Allston. From 7 to 11 pm the cardboard lids will be removed, childhood memories relived, and good wholesome fun (and beer) will be enjoyed. This week a handful of prizes will be given out, and Bostonist will be on hand to give one lucky winner a pair of tickets to the Paradise show July 30 with Editors and Bon Savants. Exploit Boston has secured other gift certificates (to places like The Games People Play to Common Ground itself.) Apples to Apples is the house favorite – a game you can jump into at any time and still do well – and doesn't come with the same time commitment level as, say, Risk.

We're booting up the contest machine again to bring you a few more tickets for the Paradise Rock Club show coming up July 30 with Editors. Straight out of the UK, these post-punk revival rockers have gained much attention with their album infused with sounds of some greats like Joy Division, Doves, and Echo and the Bunnymen. They caused quite a buzz last year when they hit the world with their debut album "The Back Room." You can listen to the track (RA | Windows) watch the video (RA High | Low) for their single Munich. They're playing the Paradise with local favorites the Bon Savants. Who we've heard will be dropping an album real soon – the July 30 show with Editors may be your first chance to pick it up.
