Music and food took over Columbus Avenue on Saturday with the 10th Berklee Beantown Jazz Festival. Performers included Jeff Ramsey, Darcel Wilson Rafael Zaldivar, Dave Samuels, The Caribbean Jazz Project, Bernie Worrell, SociaLybrian, Melvin Gibbs, J. T. Lewis, and Ronny Drayton. Rajdulari Barnes, lead singer of The Rajdulari Project jazz ensemble and former Berklee student, returned to Boston to perform. "It was great to feel the arts in progress," she said.

Bicycles took over Boston on Sunday at the 2011 TD Bank Mayor's Cup. The 7th Annual race drew 5,000 participants to ride around the city. TD Bank donated $10,000 to the Boston Bike School, and will sponsor at least three more years of the race. You can see complete results here.

Several hundred environmentalists gathered at Columbus Waterfront Park Saturday to bring attention to climate change and find alternatives to fossil fuels. Boston's event was one of 700 events in the United States as part of Moving Planet: A Day To Move Beyond Fossil Fuels. As you can see from these pictures, alternative forms of transportation were crucial to the rally. That means trains and boats, among other things. The human wind turbine look is good, too.

Bowling is great fun. These pictures don't challenge that statement. They were taken at Sacco's Bowl Haven in Boston, and one shows bowlers also care about more than strikes. They like community service, ran the Boston Marathon to support Dana Farber, and want to help the people of Kenya. Bowlers like local beer, too.
