The April rain is seemingly behind us, the flowers are springing, but we're not yet upon summer festival season. Soon enough we won't be able to go a weekend without a sleepless night with ringing in our ears as we spent too many hours in the heat a little too close to a bank of speakers broadcasting to the masses. Well, that or a sweet show at Harbor Lights The Pavilion. Tuesday, 5/8 Grant-Lee......

Not all technology startups are out for big money. Tourfilter began as an idea to develop a tool so the founder, Chris Marstall, so he wouldn't miss his favorite bands when they were in town. Unlike some of the other sites like Pollstar or Tourb.us, Tourfilter doesn't track bands from their tour calendars but off of the venues in a specific area. Morphine's Dana Colley plays saxophone on one of the more contemplative tracks. The band......

Hours and hours of inches and inches of rain make us in the mood for some grilled cheese and tomato soup. When we’re done with the homey, comfy meal, we’re off to catch some music – the only other thing besides a good dose of cheese that......

Everyone is running around today. Well, mostly in a more or less straight path from Hopkinton to Boston. Watching people complete a marathon makes Bostonist feel proud that they’re strong and a little guilty that we’ve never even tried to make it the 26.2 ourselves. We’ll be watching, but when our spirits start to drop it will be time for some good music. An eclectic mix of shows make the picks this week –......

There are all sorts of celebrations going on this week. One year anniversaries, EP releases and, well, we threw in some alt-country just to spice it up a little bit. Bostonist is looking forward to to warmer weather, but until then we know where they might be heating things up on stages around the Hub. Some of the great shows you might find a pair or two of Bostonist's ears this week. Monday 2/20: The......
