The Sandwich Showdown at the Bleacher Bar, located beneath the bleachers in center field at Fenway Park, is in its equivalent of the pennant race. Pretenders are gone and only 10 contenders remain to have their culinary concoction added to the Bleacher Bar's menu for the 2011 Sox season. On Friday, March 11 at 7 p.m., an all-you-can-eat Charity Event Sandwich Showdown throwdown to benefit Theo and Paul Epstein’s Foundation To Be Named Later. A $15 ticket gets you into the Bleacher Bar to sample the contenders and witness celebrity judges picking finalsts. A year ago, this particular Bostonist tore into Hot Stove, Cool Music with a ferocity most often seen perhaps in rabid dogs. An event billed as top-notch synergy between Boston's sports and music circles left us wondering if we'd missed the tabletop covered with Kool-Aid in Dixie cups, because we viewed the night as a musical an uninspired, over-hyped musical event.
