Didn't get a refund this year? Didn't get your refund check yet? Haven't even started your taxes? Whatever your situation, Dunkin' Donuts is here to help. Run on over to any Dunkin' location for a free donut with the purchase of any size hot coffee, all in honor of tax day. Whether it's a reward for finishing or fuel for wrangling with forms, a free donut is a free donut. Except not quite--the fine print on the DD website notes that the "free" treats are subject to applicable taxes. D'oh!

By now you're probably either planning your strategy for Saturday's WBOS EarthFest or figuring out how to avoid Storrow Drive like the plague over the course of the weekend. With predictions of weather in the low 80s and partly cloudy skies, it appears that the folks over at BOS have picked themselves a beaut of a day to devote to free music and environmental friendliness at the Hatch Shell.

We weren't sure when Bank of America merged with Fleet and started splashing their patriotic colors about town. Green = Money / Money = Fleet...why, the concept was as visually obvious as pink+orange = Dunkin' Donuts.

Before the sky turned dark and it started to rain this afternoon, Bostonist was taking a walk past one of the half dozen Peet’s Coffee & Tea's scattered around Boston. Our friends who visit from the west coast often get excited when discovering any of the chain's few a locations here. We didn’t know it was that big of a deal, but apparently the reach in California is similar to Dunkin Donuts in New England....

Perhaps not a huge fan of Clay, Bostonist is a fan of the contest. We, and we think you, like free stuff and that feeling of being special. We were reminded today of the Bon Jovi show that we gave away a pair of tickets to back in mid-October (congrats Pyng, enjoy the show!). The concert sold out for the Garden pretty quickly, but looking out the window today we think there may be a few no shows and some scalpers with tickets discarded by North Shore Bon Jovi fans who will make the wise decision not to make it into the city for the show. We don’t encourage scalping, but if you really want to see the show, check the ‘list, or hang out in North Station and see what you can find.

Bostonist should have mentioned it sooner, but better late than never: this is Bike Week (sometimes known as Bike to Work Week). That means tons of bike-friendly activities all over the state, which are listed at the helpful website of Massbike, our favorite tireless champion of two-wheeled transport. Being great lovers of free stuff, we especially recommend the free breakfasts for bike commuters. There's one tomorrow in front of the Au Bon Pain in Harvard Square from 7:30 - 9:30, and two on Thursday at the same time: one on Main Street in Kendall Square and one on Boylston by the Pru (where the Duck Boats queue up). There will also be a city-funded, bicycle-related giveaway on Friday morning in Cambridge (at Kendall, Central, Harvard Square, and the Minuteman bike trail), and we have it on good authority that even non-Cantabrigians can partake (last year, Bostonist got a bicycle bell).
