Just as holiday travel prepares to spike around Christmas, the price of gas climbs, too. Thursday's commute was light. However, the State Police expect traffic to increase as people travel to holiday destinations. We're not surprised that the price of gas climbs this close to Christmas. As of Tuesday, the price of gas hit $3.00 per gallon in the Bay State, according to AAA Southern New England. The national average is $2.98.
