We did our best to spread the word on Sunday that Boston Police would be cracking down on debauchery outside Fenway Park during Game 7 of the ALCS, but let's face it: we're naturally curious. We wanted to see with our own eyes what the scene was like down by the ballpark, given the likelihood of stories running wild about who was going to take it too far: the crowd or the police. Police had...

We posted about a big party that the local startup event/social site HeyLetsGo was planning for Fenway. We thought it was a good idea, but forgot that it's fall in New England and the weather doesn't cooperate with outdoor events this time of year. The threat of rain this evening (see picture. as of lunchtime it looks like rain is on the way) has moved the party across Lansdowne. The party will sprawl through Avalon, Axis, Embassy, and Modern. Rather than Gate B, a longer walk from the T stop anyway, the check in will be at Avalon.
HeyLetsGo, a local upstart social website based on events, is throwing their biggest party ever this weekend. They've gotten a hold of Fenway Park and are letting their members in for free to watch the (away) game on the biggest TV in Boston (the jumbotron). They've hosted a whole bunch of parties before – and provided some entertainment with the way their website truncated (and still truncates) certain members words. To join the HeyLetsGo crew, a few of the Bostonist team, Wally, and several thousand other (21+) friends at Fenway this Friday you have to browse on over to their site and RSVP. Yep, they've required that you sign up (which is free) and RSVP (also free) to attend the party (did you guess? Free).
It’s been a while, but now we’ve got to do some spring cleaning. Bostonist is cleaning out our ears and putting them to good use eavesdropping. We hope you’ll help us by sending in the things you overhear on your commute, at lunch, or as you’re waiting for your TurboIce at Gate B of Fenway Park. Drop them into an email and send it off to us cyber-space style to the address overheard –...
The baseball gods smiled down on Bostonist and graced us with a ticket to attend the first game of the season at Fenway Park. The mood around the park was exhilarating and obviously upbeat. Fans were hanging out at every single bar down Lansdowne, laughing, eating, and getting numb prepared for the first pitch at Fenway. At around 1:30 pm the mounting cheers from inside the park signaled to all fans that the Opening Day festivities were starting, and they began their mad dash to their respective seats. Bostonist made it into the park by way of Gate B near the bleachers and worked our way to the other side, all the while taking some photos and checking out the newly completed work to old Fenway Park.
Apparently it isn’t enough that there is a Dunkin’ Donuts on nearly every block around Boston, and in some cases two. Two new Dunkies are set to open at Fenway Park.
Fenway faithful waited 86 years for a Red Sox championship. Today, another long wait is over, as Red Sox fans and all visitors to Fenway Park can now finally enjoy a cup of Dunkin' Donuts coffee at Red Sox home games and other Fenway events… "Just as visits to Fenway Park are a way of life in New England, so too are visits to Dunkin' Donuts," said Red Sox President/CEO Larry Lucchino.True dat Larry, double true. Bostonist is a little skeptical about is the assertion that we’ve been waiting for Dunkin' to make an appearance inside the ballpark, and equating it with the 86 year drought. It would be great if they would sell beer to us after the 7th inning or if the Fenway Franks tasted as good as when we were kids, but truthfully we haven’t once thought “man I wish I could go to Gate B and get myself a TurboIce right now.
