Accord Pond in Hingham is currently closed after a man was reportedly seen throwing something into the water on Accord Lane on Wednesday morning. Police said there were papers found nearby that were not written in English. A State Police dive team found nothing after a search of the reservoir, a source of water for Hingham, Hull and part of Cohasset. Aquarion Water Co., operator of Accord Pond closed the supply "immediately" after the incident. A woman who allegedly punched her infant son on the Route 23 bus yesterday afternoon was confronted by passengers after leaving the bus in Roxbury at the intersection of Warren and Brunswick streets and held there until police arrived. The mother, identified as Erica Ryan in the Globe, reportedly hit "her child in the mouth with a closed fist" and yelled "Little bastard, you got one more chance." Police said he had dried blood around his mouth and had been crying. She was charged with domestic abuse. [Globe] more ›

The State Police arrested Frank. S. Ceccaroni, 47, of Holliston, today for drunk driving after a high speed chase on I-93 today. Ceccaroni reportedly, according to the Globe, has five previous operating under the influence arrests. Police saw Ceccaroni swerving on I-93 in an Infiniti that been reported stolen and bore plates registered to a Dodge Caravan. He collided with a tractor-trailer before being arrested. Ceccaroni faces charges for drunk driving, failure to stop for police and allegedly driving a stolen car. [Globe] more ›

Paul Wahlberg is planning to open a hamburger-themed restaurant by the end of August across the street from Alma Nove, his year-old Italian/Mediterranean restaurant named after his mother, in the Hingham Shipyard. Dennis Keohane was stabbed multiple times during a road rage incident on Wednesday. It started on I-93 in Andover where the suspect was tailgating the victim. The suspect followed the victim to East Street in Tewksbury where Keohane was stabbed. Police are looking for a “low-rider" Honda Civic in connection with the incident. The suspect is described as a "Hispanic male, about 5-foot-9, with dark-rimmed glasses, and a New York Yankees baseball cap." [WHDH] more ›

Andrew J. MacDonald, 20, of Hingham faces 60 days in jail after pleading guilty to two counts of mayhem for biting parts of another man's ears off during a fight. MacDonald's sentence was actually two years, and all but 60 days was suspended. more ›

She escaped the scene in her black Saab convertible after ripping down a store flag. There's more. She must have blended in with all of the other Saab drivers in Hingham as she eluded the cops for a day. She was brought to justice after an officer observed a Saab driver suspiciously singing along with loud music. Probable cause, clearly. The Herald reported today that Michelle Obama shops at Hingham-based Talbots. She wore three Talbots dresses at three recent official events.
