A State Trooper was struck by a car in South Boston this morning on a detail near where Frontage Road meets the Massachusetts Turnpike just before the Ted Williams Tunnel. State Police said the hit-and-run driver fled in a dark-colored sedan, possibly a Volvo or Toyota, with a damaged right front end. According to State Police, the trooper was checking for speeding drivers and was on the Route 90 Eastbound ramp coming from Route 93 Northbound.

It was an eventful overnight in Chelsea on Tuesday/Wednesday as a water main broke and an accident killed a Revere man.
A 24-year old man on a scooter died after being hit by a speeding car on Tremont Street near Columbus Avenue in Roxbury last night. The car kept going after the collision. Police are reviewing surveillance video footage and are seeking information from witnesses. Channel 5 says police used debris from the crash to determine the vehicle was an SUV. -- A Revere man was arrested by Cambridge Police after allegedly choking an officer into unconsciousness at the Cambridge Hospital emergency room. He was charged with assault and battery on public employees, assault to murder, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. [Cambridge Chronicle]
-- Michael Faria of Stoughton was arraigned today on multiple charges, including vehicular homicide, for the hit-and-run fatality on Saturday in Easton after turning himself in yesterday. Faria may have been text-messaging at the time of the incident. [Boston Globe]
-- Police arrested the Dorchester man responsible for the February 27th lunch brawl at West Roxbury High School. Edwin Reyes, 39, surrendered to police yesterday. Police say that Reyes led a posse of four adults, including his two brothers and an unidentified woman, to assault a West Roxbury student who had allegedly beat up Reyes's son.
--Bob Hayden - a retired Boston police officer, former Lawrence police chief, and grandpa - had to deal with some schmucks on his plane from Minnesota to Massachusetts on Saturday night. --A car chase happened in Cambridge last night. WBZ reports, "The chase started in Cambridge when officials spotted the driver of a black Hummer almost hit a police officer as he left the Alewife 'T' station parking lot." This was no ordinary pursuit. One witness described the chase as "insane." The police learned a lesson after the tragic police-chase deaths in Somerville - they eventually let the guy go on. And it worked out fine...
