Glen Davis and Ray Allen scored 20 points each as the Celtics overcame a 51-40 halftime deficit to steal an a href="http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/recap?gid=2011031903">89-85 win over the New Orleans Hornets last night. The third quarter was crucial as the Celtics used a 23-6 surge to take a 67-64 lead they never gave back.

We love Glen Davis and Jeff Green and what they do for the Celtics. But, when they outscore the Big Three of Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett in a game then the Celtics are in trouble. That's what happened last night and the Houston Rockets took advantage of it with a 93-77 Friday night victory as Green (17) and Davis (16) had 33 combined points while Pierce, Allen and Garnett tallied 29. Houston led 62-40 at the half.
Half of the field for the NCAA Women's Frozen Four at Tullio Arena in Erie, Penn. comes from the Hub. Yes, BC and BU are still alive in the chase for a women's hockey crown. On Friday, BC (24-6-6) meets top-seeded Wisconsin (26-4-4) at 5 p.m. and BU (26-6-4) faces Cornell (31-2-1) at 8 p.m. The national championship game is on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET. The Hockey East final was a great game to conclude two very good weeks of hockey. The Terriers of BU took home their seventh Hockey East championship by defeating the UMASS Lowell River Hawks. Kieran Millan posted 32 saves and was named tournament MVP en route to a 1-0 shutout, the 3rd in Hockey East finals history.
