Boston police arrested seven people during the public celebration of Boston's Stanley Cup victory and five people were in court Thursday to face charges Three were arrested for malicious destruction of property, one for assault and battery on a public employee, and another for inciting a riot, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. The suspect charged with disorderly conduct allegedly dared police to arrest him by saying "Come and get me, you [expletive].” He also allegedly extend his middle finger at the booking photo camera. Roxbury resident James Sanders, 18, pleaded not guilty to drug and assault charges after leading a Boston police officer on a foot chase following an apparent drug deal on Thursday. Sanders has no record. An officer approached Sanders after observing a drug deal. Sanders fled through Ramsay Park and was caught at Washington and Newcomb streets at which time the officer's weapon discharged. Sanders was treated at Boston Medical Center after being shot in the shoulder during the scuffle. He is charged with assault and battery on a public employee, resisting arrest, and possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute. His bail was set at $300 cash. Quinn Glover and William Marks, 19, each received decades-long sentences for the home invasion in which left Kimberly Cates dead and her 11-year-old daughter, Jaimie, wounded. Glover got 20-40 years for burglary, robbery and conspiracy to commit burglary. Marks was sentenced to 30 to 60 years for conspiracy to commit murder, burglary and first-degree assault. [WBZ] more ›

-- A student at Stonehill College was arrested by Brockton police on Monday for allegedly raping an eight-year old girl multiple times while working as a tutor in the federally funded America Counts program. The student, a junior, pleaded not guilty to two counts of rape of a child with force and two counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 years old. He was held on $20,000 cash bail at Brockton District Court. Stonehill suspended the suspect after he was arrested. [Globe] more ›

Don Amorock of Weymouth is lucky to be alive. Amrock woke up on Sunday night with a gun pointed at his head, right between his eyes. "I thought I was dead," he said. A man broke into his house looking for a man named Jerry. Amorock had worked as a substance abuse counselor, observed the intruder was intoxicated, and knew what to do. more ›

The MBTA suspended a bus driver after the driver allegedly threw coffee into a passing truck in Lynn, striking a passenger. The bus driver was allegedly cut off by the truck Boston and Chestnut streets and the two had an argument over it. The driver faces a court summons. [Globe] more ›

Boston police arrested the driver of an SUV that struck and killed Andrew Prior, 24, of Roxbury in November. Prior was riding his scooter outside the Roxbury Crossing MBTA Station on November 14 when he was hit. The suspect was charged with motor vehicle homicide and leaving the scene of an accident. Phillip Depasquale, 39, was arrested Tuesday night after a high-speed car chase on Cape Cod. Depasquale was added to the State "Most Wanted" list after suspect allegedly kidnapping a Hopkinton woman with disabilities, making her withdraw money from an ATM, and abandoning her in a trailer overnight in a snowstorm on January 26. He was driving a stolen car and was caught after crashing into a tree. He faces 17 charges related to his arrest including breaking into a motor vehicle, larceny, and failure to stop for a police officer. [Globe] more ›

-- Marcos Colono, 32, of Cambridge is charged with assault with intent to murder, home invasion and two counts of raping a child after an incident in August on Pearl Street. He allegedly broke into the house with a knife and had the 11-year old and his father lay on top of each other. He then raped the boy and stabbed the father several times, according to authorities. Colono is now a suspect in the 2008 rape of two female college students in Brighton. His brother was killed in 2003 during a fight with Harvard graduate student Alexander Pring-Wilson in Cambridge. -- Police allege Alan Menchin, 19, of South Dennis broke into a Yarmouth home last week and was fought off by an 83-year-old marine and WWII veteran. -- A Thursday morning home invasion in Cambridge resulted in the stabbing of a 53-year old man and his 11-year-old son son. Both victims went to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. --For some reason, 32-year-old Keni Garcia of Haverhill allegedly wanted 85,000 bullets. The ATF, ICE and state and local authorities seem to think this was a bad idea. Who knew? Essex County prosecutors are charging Garcia, who was scheduled to become an American citizen today, with illegal possession of ammunition, three counts of possession of a high-capacity firearm, and illegal storage of a firearm.
