New England Innovation Month is drawing to a close this week with several events, among them is What's Next In Tech: Exploring the Growth Opportunities of 2009 and Beyond. #whatsnext09 will happen this Thursday at Boston University's School of Management from 6:00pm-8:30pm.
This Monday evening at the Cambridge Royal Sonesta brought about the19th Boston Web Innovators Group meetup. The Web Innovators Group is a venue where startups (mostly) or established companies can show off new and innovative (one would hope) web-based products and services.
Monday in Cambridge marked the first annual Inbound Marketing Summit, hosted by the local internet marketing firm HubSpot.
The Business of Software Conference has been going on at the World Trade Center, part of the Seaport Hotel, for the last couple days. Software architects, marketing and management visionaries, and venture capitalists have provided presentations, roundtable discussions, and networking (aka cocktails and appetizers) for existing and aspiring software entrepreneurs who have come to Boston from all over the world.
[UPDATED:] The first week of September brings two conferences to Boston about subjects most people erroneously think are exclusive to Silicon Valley: software entrepreneurship and web marketing. Boston is a hub for this technology despite the focus of attention on the West Coast.
