While Wes Welker visited a North Attleboro school with a real hero, a bunch of Patriots, including Tom Brady, visited Henry Grew Elementary School in Hyde Park. Brady brought Robert Kraft, Deion Branch, Patrick Chung, Brandon Merriweather and Zoltan Mesko with him. We don't know who drove.
The Pats visited the school to promote the NFL's Play 60 program to get kids to exercise for at least 60 minutes of a day. The school got a $10,000 grant to buy gym or recess equipment. The highlight was Brady showing off his now controversial hair.

The three suspects in the murder of Richel Nova, the pizza deliveryman killed in Hyde Park last Thursday night all pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder charges. Judge Kathleen Coffey held Alexander Gallett, 18, of Hyde Park; Michel St. Jean, 20 of Hyde Park; and Yamiley Mathurin, 17, of Mattapan without bail. The prosecutor bluntly described the suspects plans: "It was never their intention that Richel Nova would leave that home in any other way than a body bag,'' said Suffolk Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Hickman. The trio allegedly stabbed Nova's chest and back, and slashed his neck. Police found a blood-stained pizza box. Nova's relatives held signs saying "Justice for Richel" in court. A Domino’s Pizza driver was killed last night while making a delivery to 742 Hyde Park Avenue in Hyde Park. Boston police found the delivery car, a 1995 green Subaru, today behind St. Adalbert's Church in Hyde Park. Police are seeking three suspects in the stabbing. Another Domino’s Pizza deliveryman was killed Saturday after his car was hit by a man being chased by Chelsea police.
-- A massive brawl allegedly erupted when a group called New England Executives rented Mantra Restaurant for a private party last month. The fracas, which was described as "alcohol fueled," allegedly turned executives into street fighting men when two bigwigs and their entourages faced off in the wee hours of the morning. Five were arrested on various charges including disorderly conduct and assault on a police officer. [UHub]
It was a dismal weekend of violence in Boston that ended with two dead, including a pregnant teenager.
-- Boston police have identified the bodies of the two men who were found dead and parked in a car outside of a Hyde Park apartment building last week. The victims, Anthony Glover, 33, of Taunton and Paul Roberson, 25 of Randolph, had been shot and stabbed to death, and police are looking for suspects in the murders. [BPDNews]
Some thug left a defenseless kitten in a Hyde Park mailbox Saturday, according to news reports. A postman discovered the kitten and quickly brought her to the MSPCA hospital in Jamaica Plain, where she is recovering from being shoved through the narrow postbox slot. She will be put up adoption soon.
-- Rodlyn Petitbois, the 25-year-old Lynn man accused of kidnapping his children and girlfriend after murdering a woman was denied bail in his trial on murder and assault and battery charges. [Herald]
-- Bullets filled the Roxbury air last night as a shootout resulted in an injury to a man driving a van full of children. The shootout happened around 8:00pm on Columbia Road, and police do not believe that the victim was the target of the gunmen, who have not been apprehended. Bullets riddled the driver's van and a number of local businesses, but no other injuries have been reported. [Globe]
The Boston police have posted an artist's rendering of a suspect in the July 4 indecent assault of a woman in the North End. And the BPD has released surveillance footage of two men suspected in the quadruple shooting that took place July 4 outside a Hyde Park convenience store.
-- Boston police have arrested a man in connection with the June 30 shooting of a 7-year-old boy who was playing kickball in Roxbury. Richard Penha, 19, of Hyde Park, pleaded not guilty to charges that he shot the boy during a shootout with an assailant on a bicycle. Authorities say that the man on the bicycle shot Penha while he was driving and that Penha returned fire, striking the boy. Penha's passenger, Kenny Francois, had previously been arrested on firearms charges related to the incident. Penha's lawyers argue that police arrested the wrong man. [WBZTV; Globe]
-- Wellesley might be the hottest new place to encounter a prostitute, but Brighton's brothels continue to service customers who take the Green Line or the 57 bus. Boston police are tackling online sex rings as a part of "Operation Rubout," an effort to wipe out prostitution in Allston and Brighton that began in 2005. The newest thing in the neighborhood? -- Early this morning, police found a man shot to death at the corner of Circuit Street and Walnut Ave., in Roxbury, near Washington Park. The victim was 20-years-old.
