Aerosmith Redux: Turmoil or Rockers Being Rockers?

You saw the YouTube video of Steven Tyler, right? No, not the video of his shoulder-cracking fall. The video of him shopping at Pembroke Center Liquors and looking like a frail elderly woman. The fall at Sturgis earlier this month, and his physical appearance, is causing concern about the 61-year old rocker to a degree that the rest of Aerosmith is united against Tyler in a passive-aggressive fued that screams rock star, at least that's what the nameless sources allegedly connected to the band tell the Herald's Inside Track.

Both the Herald and Globe wondered today about whether and why Victoria's Secret model Selita Ebanks was booed during a promotional appearance Sunday night at Gillette Stadium. Could it be that a stadium full of "red-blooded American football fans" (as the Herald's Inside Track ladies put it) actually booed any model, let alone a Victoria's Secret lass? Bostonist was there, and we heard all the boos. And much as we give credit to anyone speaking...

We weren't surprised to see Manny Ramirez selling a car on eBay, but the news that someone was selling Red Sox manager Terry Francona's chewed gum on eBay thoroughly disgusted us. The fact that people were bidding on it disgusted us even more. And how are you going to know it's Terry Francona's gum, anyway? That's like selling Britney Spears' Dorito Dust. The seller told the Inside Track that she got it from the dugout...

Actor/comedian Jimmy Fallon went a little "play some Skynard!" at a Bang Camaro gig at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City. According to the Inside Track, Bang Camaro had to talk him down a little when he "demanded" that they play some Doors: “All was going fine until halfway through the set I hear some idiot bellowing into one of our mikes,” said Bang Camaro guitarist Alex Necochea. “I look up and see Fallon...

We caught wind of Manny's grill auction yesterday afternoon. Bidding was up around $4,300 when we first checked. My midnight it was already past the million dollar mark, even higher overnight, an early morning check revealed that $99,999,999 was the current high bid. The early afternoon came a few emails letting us know that the auction would be no longer. eBay had closed the auction down. The Globe splashed the mention on the front page, above the fold, of the sports section. The Herald chimed in via the Inside Track with the typically punny headline "Are you bidding me?"

Let's just set aside the Celtics current troubles and cheer for Gerald Green, who won the NBA All-Star Slam Dunk contest with skill and some serious showmanship. Green needed to be flashy because the All-Star events were already set in the shiny, sparkly city of Las Vegas, and he lived up to the landscape. With Paul Pierce as his set-up man, Green competed against Orlando's Dwight Howard, Chicago's Tyrus Thomas, and last year's winner, Nate...

Last night was the last call at The Rack. The Hard Rock Café is moving from their Back Bay location where they've been neatly tucked away from most of the foot traffic only blocks away to The Rack's location near Faneuil Hall. What Bostonist will miss most about The Rack isn't the overpriced drinks or pool tables – it's the column inch upon column inch of content they've provided for The Inside Track over the...

We're sure there are high school girls with Tom Brady's name penciled into the backs of their notebooks. Who are we kidding? There's a guy in the next cube who's got a framed picture of the QB sitting on his desk obscuring the pictures of his kids. There's a lot of love for the man who's helped elevate the Patriots to (at least talk of) dynasty status around New England and even across the country. It's too bad Brady is taken because he'd be stirring up so much more fodder for the Inside Track if he was getting caught out on the town with a new lady friend every now and again. This is all to say Bostonist hasn't found anyone who seems to be into Tom Brady quite as much as the person who penned the parody lyrics to Kenny Rogers' "Lady," recorded it, and put together the video montage below.

…let me hear you call your audibles in my ear…

When the cast and crew of the latest Scorsese flick, "The Departed" descended on Boston last year, Bostonist was excited to see some real movie stars film in the real streets of Boston (and not Toronto, Vancouver, or any other more affordable Canadian city). Unfortunately, they were only here about a month before heading down to New York City to use it as the backdrop for what is supposed to be an entire story set in Southie. We had to be happy with our fleeting glimpses of Leo, Matt, and Jack in the Herald's Inside Track every day since we knew that was all we were going to get.

Bostonist loves the Inside Track ladies at the Herald. They’ve got their finger on the tiny trickle of celebrity and athlete gossip coming from the Hub. As was pointed out earlier this year, they were the only ones who could keep track of The Departed. But this morning they’re knocking on the Internet and Bosonist’s “Weather or Not” man Todd Gross. Set to make an appearance this morning on WAAF, before Todd went live, the...

Nomar Garciaparra, former sox shortstop and local sports icon, was reported to have saved two women from drowning after they fell into Boston Harbor late last week. Without bringing an entourage with him for the rescue (like some people we know) the story is only breaking now, thank you Inside Track ladies.

We do appreciate the imagery that is coming out form the Boston Herald. We feel it to be a much more vivid imagery of people in conflict, people losing their homes. Again, we’re not taking a side on if it’s right or wrong for Israel to be pulling out of Gaza, but seeing it helps us understand it better.

Nothing like a little bad boy publicity to get the book some press, huh? Johnny starts his book promoting next week, kicking off April 4th in NYC. He's making an appearance at Borders in Braintree on April 12th.
