The #7 BC Eagles take on the WVU Mountaineers at noon today at MSG, in their third meeting this season. The sportsbooks have the Eagles as a 5.5 point favorite despite BC beating WVU this season by margins of 20 and 12. WVU did pummel an uninspired Providence team Wednesday afternoon and they can point to their two victories against Pitt. Pitt did whip BC last week, however many say that sometimes a team can learn more from a loss than a win. Craig Smith and Jared Dudley earned Big East 1st Team Honors, Al Skinner is the Big East Coach of the Year, and Sean Williams made the All Rookie Team. Yet, the Big East is still bitter over the ACC move and it has been seen in the officiating and the lack of trophy ceremonies. BC should be extremely motivated to win the Big East tournament and give the final Heisman to Mike Tranghese and his awesome smile.
