Boston's favorite dancing fool has proven that the squeaky wheel really does in fact get the grease. Closer Jonathan Papelbon must have attended the Curt Schilling “How to Use the Media to Your Advantage School." After a week of complaining that he wasn’t being taking care of and how he should get the money he deserved all in the name of baseball, Papelbon got the money he wanted on Thursday afternoon.

It’s been pretty quiet on the fashion front. The shows in Europe are almost over and the Spring/Summer collections are on display in store fronts up and down Newbury Street. So in between listening to Papelbon complain and trying to get tickets to see Shiny Toy Guns on St. Patrick’s Day, why not take a well deserved fashion break.

Second only to the awards themselves, fashion is one of the main reasons why so many of us watch the Oscars. So along with everyone else out there with a blog and a voice, we’ve decided to give you our opinion on fashion last night. We’ll save you from our opinions on the winners and why Amy Ryan was robbed and stick to what we know. Fashion.

Much to the dismay of many of us out there, we can thank that overgrown rat from Pennsylvania for six more weeks of winter. Now while this might prove many people’s point that nothing good comes out of that state, Punxsutawney Phil's response means four more weeks of bad weather and dry indoor heating that will take a toll on your skin. But the Bostonist is here to help. We know your pain, so we did some research and found some of the best products to help you combat the winter elements.

Fashion Week for Fall 2008 has come to a close. Yes, everyone from Anne Hathaway to K.Fed sat with Anna Wintour and Andre Leon Talley and witnessed what Boston can expect from the fashion world in a matter of months.

It was Guy Fawkes versus L. Rob Hubbard yesterday on Beacon Street. More than 100 people were outside Boston’s branch of The Church of Scientology yesterday, protesting the practices of the church, Boston NOW reported. Led by the Anti-Scientologist internet group Anonymous, word was spread about numerous protests worldwide through You Tube, message boards, and e-mail. Anonymous had previously announced that February 10th would be a day of mass protest of all Scientology churches from here to Berlin.

Rudy Giuliani might be out of the presidential spotlight, but one of his comments regarding the Boston Red Sox is back to haunt him thanks to the Topps Baseball Card Company.

Valentine’s Day is coming up next week and women everywhere are shopping like crazy to find the perfect outfit for that special date. So what about all of those single girls who have a whole lot of nothing planned for that evening? Many of them will do the generic, sit home in sweats, eat ice cream out of the container, and curse their friends who are part of a couple. Bostonist would like to recommend to the readers to stop being like Andrea Zuckerman, when Kelly asked Brandon out to the spring Dance before Andrea got the nerve to put the spoon down, put the ice cream back in the freezer, and get out there.

Win or lose, we'd always planned on evaluating the best and the worst Super Bowl commercials. In general, 2008 was a bum year for commercials since most of them seemed to forget to tell the audience what it is they're actually promoting, but a few broke away from the pack.

All the Bostonists got together and thought of how to deal what is admittedly a rough day.

Victoria Beckham is a style icon with Hermes bag collection that would make most women green with envy. It’s also fitting that she would make an appearance on Wednesday promoting her jeans & sunglasses collection right before her other gig that night. For those of you who don’t know, she sometimes sings with this pop group from the UK, ever hear of them? Spice something?

With the change of seasons comes the change of wardrobes. Millions of women all over will be switching over the purses, shoes, and clothes they live in for the next few months. Many of these women will try desperately to look like a million bucks and be the epitome of what Anna Wintour would consider “high fashion.”

Johnny Pesky will be at the Barnes & Noble in Peabody tonight from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm signing books.

Bostonist will be bringing several fashion writers on board in the next few weeks. And now, meet Jocelyn Celeste!
