By now you're probably either planning your strategy for Saturday's WBOS EarthFest or figuring out how to avoid Storrow Drive like the plague over the course of the weekend. With predictions of weather in the low 80s and partly cloudy skies, it appears that the folks over at BOS have picked themselves a beaut of a day to devote to free music and environmental friendliness at the Hatch Shell.

After a weekend of rain where all we heard was disgruntled Bostonians complaining, because that's what we do best, about the weather we rock into the week. Miraculously the Red Sox managed to play all their games this past weekend making us furiously check the forecast for WBOS' 14th annual EarthFest coming up this weekend. For us it marks the first of many outdoor events that will happen this summer, and it's Memorial Day...

As WBOS has been hyping the lineup announcement for the 14th Annual WBOS EarthFest, we've been eager to find out who will grace the Hatch Shell stage on May 26. Although the official press conference isn't scheduled until Friday, WBOS VIP email subscribers were sent an email Wednesday night that hooked them up with details about what is looking to be a sweet day of free tunes.

Lent, what a time to give something up. Over here at Bostonist Headquarters we're thinking hard what we're going to drop come Wednesday. It won't be our MP3 player and it won't be live music. Maybe with this, week four of the now weekly music pick running on Monday we're going to be able to give up our lack of coverage of the local music scene. With fingers crossed we're raising a pint to forty days and forty nights with local music somewhere on the agenda.
