Marathon Monday comes but once a year. It's a day of accomplishment, inspiration, and drunken disorderly behavior. There seems to be a calm in the storm no matter what category you fall into. The father and son team of Dick and Rick Hoyt continue to amaze us year after year. If we're watching on TV or Beacon Street there's something magical about that moment when they cross the finish line or enter the peripheral vision.......

Marathon Monday for the non-runners usually involves drinking a couple of six packs and scheduling a vacation day for Patriot's Day. Making sure you have the day off, and don't get too drunk too early is important for making it through the experience as you're camped out on your friends tiny balcony or courtyard. Rhea points us to a marathon training story that's a bit more inspirational than the way we train. A Wisconsin man......

We don’t really know what’s going on with the New York folks. They’re always up to something crazy. We thank Michael Malice who’s let us become his partner for “outside New York.” Now you can find the New York crazy conversations at NewYorkOverheard.com, while in Boston check in with us (your ears permitting) every Thursday for what nutso conversations we’re overhearing. Join the fun by sending in the things you overhear on your commute,......

We know that not everyone enjoys the benefits of a state holiday so some folks will actually be working as thousands travel the 26.2 from Hopkinton......

It will be a busy weekend here in Boston. Many of our colleagues have the day off for Good Friday or are just looking forward to Patriots Day on Monday that has seemingly been renamed to Marathon Monday. Between the these two holidays, which don’t often coincide with each other, is Easter Sunday. Many in Boston will attend mass as usual, others will make one of their two appearances at church (the other being Christmas),......

It seems everyone is talking about bib numbers, their knees, or the New Balance they hope are broken in by the time Marathon Monday rolls around. There’s not much time to train for the treck past Heartbreak Hill, but it’s not stopping lots of people out there. These bands aren’t on the run. They’re kicking up the amps and pumping pure, sweet decibels of goodness into our ears all week long. Tuesday 4/11 Shumai Indie......

Because we’ll still be feeling the effects of the Guinness, we’re looking for something a little subdued for Saturday. We’re thinking that might just be MIT’s Juggle Mania II at 6:30 p.m. in Room 54-100. If WrestleMania II is any indicator of the caliber of mania-sequels, we’re in for a Steel Cage Match – with knives and fire. Sponsored by the MIT Juggling Club, proceeds from the t-shirt sales and raffle (rest assured, prizes for......
