What's not to like about the story in today's Globe, reporting on Rockport's abandonment of nearly 150 years of prohibition? The subject matter, obviously, warms Bostonist's bourbon-addled heart: the seaside town has finally allowed liquor sales (albeit under very limited circumstances), which will undoubtedly further citizens' constitutional rights. And as a practical matter, we will be glad to enjoy a drink with dinner the next time we are up the shore for a day (we highly recommend Rockport as a destination for accessible sea breezes, saltwater taffy, and assorted maritime delights). But most important, we especially enjoyed the two people quoted by the Globe in opposition to the measure, one practical, one full of doomsday pronouncements.
