Chicagoist’s “Countdown to Rahmageddon” concluded with the election of Rahm Emanuel as Mayor. With Emanuel’s election, the epic “Mayor Emanuel” Twitter feed came to a glorious end, and they broke the feed down by the numbers. Massachusetts wandered into Wisconsin territory with a Unions vs. Tea Party rally on Wednesday at Beacon Hill. A Tea Partier said unions were "perverted," and Congressman Michael Capuano said people should get "a little bloody."

Bostonist is glad Vicki Kennedy isn't running for Senate in 2012. We opposed her possible candidacy the first time we heard it, and we still do. We're not joining the Tea Party by saying that, either. Vicki is unquestionably capable enough to be a successful Senator. We think she's done her part by supporting Ted Kennedy and has earned time away from public scrutiny.

When we turned on our computer yesterday and saw chat statuses like "filling out my death panel job application," we knew that the House of Representatives had passed President Barack Obama's health care reform, and there was nothing that Massachusetts's furious array of white dudes could do to stop it. Not even Tim Cahill!

Bostonist was there for the taping of the debate between Democratic primary candidates competing for the chance to get Teddy Kennedy's senate seat in the upcoming January special election. Here's our record of what happened, in case you didn't get to watch for yourself. We weren't supposed to post before the thing actually aired. This is unedited, uncut, so forgive errors--will correct as soon as possible! And to be clear, this is by no means an exact transcript--there's lots of paraphrase, and a little snide commentary. (Full program if you missed it.)
Tomorrow, two debates will take place that might help you make a decision in the special election race to fill Ted Kennedy's senate seat. First, the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce sponsors a debate between the Republican candidates Scott Brown and Jack E. Robinson tomorrow at 8am. It's too late to register (aka pay through the nose) to attend, sadly, but we'll try to round up some reactions for you.

Attention: Boston Globe. The crucial issues in the 2009 Senate election to replace Ted Kennedy do not include show tunes and men's clothing. Saturday's piece on Michael Capuano paints him as a Kennedy type of liberal. He says he is the financial underdog among the four Democratic candidates. Oh, he's also switching to long-sleeve shirts. The Globe's Andrea Estes said he looked "uncomfortable" in his suit. On Friday, Matt Viser reported that Martha Coakley referenced the Rodgers and Hammerstein song "I Enjoy Being A Girl" in an answer to a question about the role of gender in the campaign. After analyzing some of the lyrics, he concluded "Coakley seems unlikely to use it as a campaign theme song." Journalism!

Bostonist Flickr contributor A.P. Donovan attended the Boston Labor Day Health Care Rally and took this series of great snaps. The crowd gathered on the Boston Common for speeches and marched to Copley Square to continue the rally.
