--Wo ist Whitey? The Feds are going on the German equivalent of "America's Most Wanted" to ask for help looking for Whitey Bulger. If you are an old white guy planning a leisurely European tour or happen to know an old white guy considering such a trip, watch out for overeager foreign policemen, even if you wear a Yankees cap. Our law-enforcement figures were successful in rounding up escape artists of all sorts, including a cow. That's right – not only did police have to deal with a man attempting a daring courthouse escape, but on Sunday morning some other officers had to round up a cow on the loose in Upton. We desperately wanted to title the post "Boston Blotter: Raging Bull," but no such luck. The loose animal was female. And she was...
Last night the Golden Globes were awarded in California. We would have watched but 24 was on with hours 3 and 4 of season 6. There are now two places you're guaranteed to find Whitey: the FBI's most wanted list and YouTube. Check out the latest Whitey addition below.
Why is South Boston's gangster past so captivating? Bostonist can't say. Sensible people should look upon Whitey Bulger and his ilk with nothing but scorn for all their killing and mayhem, but somehow, between Whitey's intriguing life on the lam and the awesome, wide-collared shirts that all those guys used to wear, the imagination is captured. Apparently, even the usually staid justices of the Supreme Judicial Court are not above this, as the first three...
