A woman was allegedly raped on Tuesday at a La Quinta Hotel in Andover after responding to a Facebook message requesting models for the "AIP Modeling" agency. The victim reportedly drank a strawberry-flavored drink given to her by the suspect that made her dizzy. She was taking pictures in lingerie and after she refused to remove her clothing, the suspect allegedly raped her. The suspect was identified as David Rodriguez by police and arrested him in New Jersey. On Thursday, he was charged with rape, assault and battery, and drugging for the purpose of sexual intercourse. Onyango Obama, President Obama's uncle, pleaded not guilty in Framingham District Court last week to drunk driving and other charges after his arrest on Wednesday. Obama was ordered deported in 1992 and ignored the order. He had a Massachusetts driver's license and a Social Security number, and was a long-time employee at a liquor store in Framingham. He's being held at the Plymouth County House of Correction. The president's aunt Zeituni Onyango was granted asylum to avoid deportation in 2010. [Globe] more ›

State Police arrested William J. Halpin III, 25, of Melrose, on Friday after he crashed into two vehicles in the breakdown lane on Route 1 and he killed one man and injured a six-year old boy. He pleaded not guilty today to charge of motor vehicle homicide while operating under the influence of drugs. When asked if he had alcohol on him, Halpin said "No. But I might have some weed on me." A 25-year-old mother and her 2-year-old son were found dead in a dumpster behind their Warren Avenue apartment in Brockton on Monday. Police identified the mother as Maria Avelina Palaguachi-Cela and her son as Brian Palaguachi. The mother is reportedly an immigrant from South America. Prior was riding his scooter outside the Roxbury Crossing MBTA Station on November 14 when he was hit. The suspect was charged with motor vehicle homicide and leaving the scene of an accident.
