Where to begin? When it comes to baseball, most of the news that came out of Tuesday was dreary, almost as dreary as the skies over Boston this morning. It felt as if it took ages for Barry Bonds to take the final steps in his journey to become baseball's new home run king, but on Tuesday night, the San Francisco Giants slugger did it. Shortly before midnight Eastern time, at a time when many...
Holy smokes! Giant fish on the MTA, Paris Hilton in jail, then out, then in again, Al Gore, goatses, blumpkins, Matt Damon, and baby art critics! The sky seemed to be falling and the terror threat level was on the verge of breaching orange. There had been reports of people wondering the city with Geiger counters making Bostonians feel as though there may be some kind of nuclear threat they weren’t telling us about. Mitt Romney even flew back from DC, missing out on the pomp and circumstance of the second inaugural celebrations. On May 12 the mystery of the chatter seems to have been revealed with the sentencing of Christian Delgado Gomez. In a story coming to Bostonist from San Antonio the four undocumented Chinese Nationals may have been those on board a Cessna piloted by Gomez. Gomez was arrested on January 24 and pled guilty a month later to one count of transporting an illegal immigrant, an additional three counts were dropped for his plea. He was sentenced to six months in jail and a $500 fine.
Remember about a couple weeks ago when Boston went into a panic about the dirty-bomb that might be coming our way with the Chinese Nationals that had been smuggled into the US from Mexico? Bostonist breathed a sigh of relief when they told us it was all a buzz and no substance. The city, people, and environment are all reportedly safe and the radioactive material did not pose any threat.
