A Boston pharmaceutical sales rep who is on this season's cycle of "Big Brother" went to the hospital after having an allergic reaction to "slop." Allison Nichols had to eat the aforementioned "slop" as a punishment. (As far as Bostonist is concerned, being on or watching "Big Brother" is punishment enough.) Her lips swelled and she said her throat closed up. Meanwhile, another contestant had a seizure, Reality TV World and the New York Daily......

MBTA General Manager Dan Grabauskas is on vacation in Thailand, which is in itself not a crime. However, the Herald is reporting that Grabauskas left for vay-cay as an Amtrak strike looms. But is it a story? Rarely do we defend the MBTA, but Joe Pesaturo at the MBTA noted that the earliest time a strike can take place is January 30. Then again, a possible strike would be a "giant snowball of crappiness" for......

Who knew panty models were straight-up cold, nay heartless? Gisele Bundchen, panty model and arm candy to Tom Brady, bought Brady's newborn with Bridget Moynahan a onesie. At first glance, that seems nice in a "sorry I stole your boyfriend" kind of way. But girlfriend bought a onesie with the word "SUPERMODEL" right across the front. Apparently the Angels' screening process could use an overhaul because a registered sex offender is among their ranks. However, we aren't quite sure what's going on because the Globe and the Herald are have different takes on the story. Here's the real story: The Guardian......

Unfortunately, this story about dolphins isn't as pleasant as the plot of a Douglas Adams book. Our clever water buddies just threw themselves on a sandy grave at Wollaston Beach. Surely, scientists must have a more reasonable explanation than that the dolphins are in a kamikaze mood. The Patriot Ledger has a possible reason from a spokesman at the New England Aquarium: "The dolphins were likely to have been sick because they died quickly......

Nelson De La Rosa, the "world's smallest actor," passed away on Sunday at the age of 38. He may have been only two feet and four inches tall, but he was big enough to hang with the larger-than-life personalities of both Pedro Martinez and Marlon Brando. De La Rosa climbed from the schlockfest Rat Man to a role as Marlon Brando's sidekick in The Island of Dr. Moreau, and De La Rosa's character supposedly served......

Boston has become home to some Hollywood stars for a few weeks as director Martin Scorsese's new film, "The Departed," finally began filming. This movie is a remake of the 2002 Hong Kong film, "Infernal Affairs," and will feature some big Hollywood talent. IMDB describes it in the following blurb: "The story, set in Boston, revolves around a gangster (Matt Damon) who infiltrates the police department and a cop (Leonardo DiCaprio) who infiltrates the gangs.......
