Randy Moss might be wearing green if and when the NFL resumes playing. Moss, who wore three different uniforms last season, could be ticketed for the New York Jets in 2011, or whenever. The New York Daily News reported it first and Jets fans panned the idea. more ›

Well, nobody expected that. For the second year in a row, the New England Patriots were bounced out of the playoffs, at home, by an allegedly inferior team. Last year, Baltimore crushed the good guys. It got way worse yesterday as the New York Jets shocked, well, everyone outside of their lockerroom, and beat the Patriots, 28-21. more ›

Please don't call this a prediction. (You know who we're picking, though.) Sunday's AFC Divisional playoff game between the New England Patriots and the New York Jets can't possible live up to the hype before the game. The New York Post won the hype battle with a clever "Return of the Jet-I" theme on the cover of a pullout section for the game. Granted, it's clever, and it's understandable how a perennial winner can be viewed in a negative light by an opponent's fan base. Two issues, though. Rex Ryan is more similar to Jabba the Hut than Han Solo. Bill Belichick is better cast as the Emperor than Darth Vader. It's a hood; not a helmet. more ›

Boston is suffering through a second blizzard in less than a month. We're getting a blizzard of comments from New Jersey's New York Jets. Rex Ryan checked in on Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. Now, thanks to a classy New York Daily News cover, we hear from Antonio Cromartie and his unique take on #12. Cromartie said Brady is "An ass----." He also said about Brady, "---- him." Lovely. more ›

The Patriots finally know who they will play a week from today in the NFL Playoffs and it's the New York Jets, who beat the Indianapolis Colts, 17-16, on Saturday. Nick Folk's 32-yard field goal was the difference in the game. The Seattle Seahawks scored an even bigger upset Saturday by eliminating the New Orleans Saints 41-36 in the NFC. more ›

The NFL keeps proving it's the best show in town. The Thanksgiving tripleheader turned into a preview for what could be the league's signature game of the entire season a week from Monday. Two 9-2 teams, the New York Jets and the New England Patriots, square off on December 6 in what might be a decisive moment in the fight for home-field advantage in the AFC. more ›

In this season of turmoil and turnover, it's good to know there are some things we can count on. Tito will remain outwardly calm, Daisuke will walk a lot of batters, and David Ortiz will hit 30 home runs. It's a law of nature. more ›

Well, the Patriots did their part. On a snowy nasty day in Foxboro, the Pats did all they could to help the Cardinals get back to the airport and back to sunny Phoenix in record time, pasting Arizona 47-7 and allowing them to have the buses warming up at halftime. Matt Cassel threw for 345 yards, Lamont Jordan ran in two scores, and the Pats pulled everything shy of the Flutie drop kick to embarrass the NFC West "champs". more ›

We're really glad we're not the New York Jets. Especially today. First of all, if you were a Jet, you'd have to be outside for hours and hours in this weather. Second of all, you're not a very good football team, and you are playing today against a remarkably good team. Third, you're the team whose coach finked out Bill Belichick early this year, putting the Patriots on a mission to destroy everything in their path and leave no doubt that they're the class of the league. Fourth, even if the opponent doesn't completely bruise your ego, the Foxborough fans - cold, wet, and bloodthirsty - will no doubt make your day thoroughly unpleasant. more ›

--The following falls more in the "Don't Panic" category instead of the "Blotter" category. If you stuck a TV set on top of a light pole at the corner of Main Street and Bishop Allen in Cambridge this morning, the Cambridge Police Department would like to have a word with you. You caused quite the freak-out. [Cambridge Chronicle] --The Christmas tree at the State House is covered blue light-emitting diodes," which conserve energy. However, the... more ›

The Patriots returned to their winning ways yesterday in Foxboro with a 16-3 triumph over division rival, the New York Jets, during a cold and snowy Sunday afternoon. This one was a bit of a yawner in the early stages. After a bit of a field position battle over the 1st 17 minutes, when the Pats put together a 14 play drive lasting 8:09 seconds that began on their 20 and ended with a... more ›
