If someone at Bostonist isn't rooting for our boy, Conan. Andy Richter is back. Max Weinberg moved to the Left Coast. Fingers are crossed that the masturbating bear hitched a ride...

Follow along with Bostonist as we watch the first "Tonight Show" with Conan O'Brien.
Hub Arts brought it to our attention that Eddie Vedder will be coming (back) to Boston August 1 and 2 to play some solo acoustic stuff. $75 tickets go on sale next Friday. Vedder's previous solo shows have apparently been cover-heavy; we hope he'll tackle a Neil Diamond song or two. Read the Globe's review of Pearl Jam's recent show here.
Regardless of how you think he would have fared in 2006, one must admit that Bronson Arroyo was screwed over by the Red Sox organization. He plunks down money on a new house in Boston. He agrees to a hometown discount, $11.2 million contract (over three years) with the Sox, which was pretty much the one thing his agent didn't want him to do. And then the guy is promptly traded off to Cincy for who? Oh wait! Wily Mo Pena.
OK, we're as excited as anyone about the first game of the Boston-Anaheim ALDS. We'll get to that in a second. But let's begin by trying to imagine how thick the tension must have been within a conference room in the catacombs of Fenway Park recently, when Theo Epstein allowed Dan Shaughnessy to sit down and talk baseball. Seriously! After the columns and the gorilla suit, the jabs and the barbs, this was a matchup...
Texas is thawing, the Northeast is freezing, and a sort of natural order seems almost restored to the Ist-A-Verse. Almost. Londonist HQ—that is to say, the city of London—was battered by heavy winds, making it a bad time to be a twelve-meter (nearly forty-foot) tall snowman. Still, not everyone decided to keep warmly covered. Meanwhile, back indoors, the Big Brother racism is now causing all kinds of headaches for international diplomats, and Londonist got into...
Some thoughts while preparing for a sunny Memorial Day Weekend cookout… David Wells had some bad luck earlier this week, taking a baseball off his right knee. The 43 year-old lefty was pitching quite well until he took a Travis Lee line drive off his knee which knocked him out of the contest. Wells was pitching quite well, leaving after giving up 1 run on 5 hits (and no walks) over 4 1/3 innings. Although...
Pearl Jam was in town for the last few days playing a pair of shows at the TD Banknorth Garden. We were totally into them back in, oh, say 1995. But then the whole Ticketmaster lawsuit happened and we started to really dislike the convenience we were being charged on top of the already steep ticket prices. Well that, and they released No Code and Yield. Our interest waned. But we still can sing-along to...
LAist has so much fun this week! They go to E3, where they overhear the timeless remark "Man, this is where nerdy girls get laid." Is that a promise? They also give us this week's best CDs and make us realize that LA is the best place to use Zillow.
Torontoist throws down the gauntlet and challenges all comers: pillow fight, bitch. They also stand up for a fellow blogger taking heat from the TTC and welcome city-wide WiFi. SFist can finally admit it: It's possible that Bary Bonds juiced. Is Bay Area artist (tempted to put quotes around that) Thomas Kinkaid "kinda crappy" or "explosively crappy" or does he just like marking territory? SFist wonders. Technology comes in the form of new Mac goodness...
If Bostonist could paraphrase the infamous words of Colonel Jesop in the movie A Few Good Men, "You weakened Red Sox Nation today Larry Lucchino, that's all you did." Theo is gone, and the Boston Red Sox are without a General Manager. In what will go down in history as one of the supreme boffo manuevers in the Boston Red Sox checkered history became "official-official today" when Theo Epstein held his farewell press conference with...
In a blink of the eye, the Nemo Showcase is upon us. We figure there's no better way to kick things off than with an interview. Bostonist caught up with Morning Theft, a NYC-based band with strong Boston roots. They join the Nemo Showcase, playing tonight at TT the Bear's as part of the Lunch Records line up.
