A New Hampshire woman was charged with assault after using a taser on a pregnant woman following a road-rage incident that began in Route 3 in Pembroke, Massachusetts and ended in Concord, New Hampshire. The suspect was throwing "bottles and cans" at the other car and the driver called 911. Both cars ended up on I-93 North at Exit 14 in Concord, New Hampshire. At a red light, the suspect got into the seat of the other woman's car and used a taser on her. She was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child. She is being held on $100,000 cash bail. Lowell Police said a pregnant 17-year old woman was stabbed in the stomach in her driveway on Wilder Street today in the city. She's three months pregnant. She was sent to Brigham and Women’s with "serious injuries" from the stabbing. A second female victim went to Lowell General Hospital after being stabbed in the hand. [Globe] more ›

Unfortunately, crime is usually very serious and often tragic. Two of the bigger crime stories represented people at their worst, acting in ways that defy description or any capacity to understand what happened. Two crimes defied any rational thought.

  • On September 28, four people were killed in Mattapan. Two men were found naked and dead on Woolson Street. A woman was shot in the head. Her 2-year old child was killed in her arms. Police described the crime as a drug-related incident.
  • Richel Nova, 58, was killed in Hyde Park on September 3 while delivering a pizza. Three suspects were arrested, and pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder, armed robbery, and breaking and entering with the intent to commit a felony.

Crimes that are truly odd can sound crazy even with a minimum of snark... A brawl in Providence, R.I. involving a pregnant woman, and a pregnant woman and her two teenage daughters resulted in three stabbing victims and four arrests. Yes. A pregnant woman from Boston stabbed another pregnant woman whose daughters were riding shotgun. The suspect, reportedly 35, eight months pregnant, a mother of three and employed at a Boston hospital, was arraigned Thursday on three counts of assault and released on $1,500 cash bail. A pregnant Boston Police officer sought to extend a restraining order against a fellow cop who she alleges repeatedly raped her. On Thursday, both officers were placed on leave and had to surrender their weapons. Both officers are in the BPD Special Operations Unit. The female officer alleged the accused officer threatened her husband by saying "He could shoot my husband in the head from 500 yards away and no one would know.". It's official! Tom Brady finally confirmed what we all sort of already knew: Gisele Bundchen is pregnant. As secrets go, it wasn't well hidden. He told Chris Berman of ESPN the news, and joked that the birth can't occur on a Sunday. But, if the blessed event were to happen on December 13 or 27, when the team plays in Foxboro, there may be a way Tom could witness the birth of his second child and play quarterback on the same day. The sprawling Patriot Place complex includes the Brigham and Women’s/Mass General Health Care Center. Bostonist has had an appointment there. It's an impressive facility. There must be some intern working for Bill Belichick who can check to see if it's equipped to handle women in labor. more ›

--A 24-year old Framingham man was arrested for allegedly having 31 bags of marijuana in his car after a failed attempt at a street race. Police observed two cars "revving their engines and spinning their tires" at a Speen Street intersection in Natick. One car failed to start the race. The other car drove away. The driver charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, racing a vehicle and driving with a suspended license. [MetroWest Daily News] more ›
