Republican candidate for state treasurer Karyn Polito's family, friends and supporters got 68 of the first 100 Registry of Motor Vehicles Boston Red Sox/Jimmy Fund vanity license plates. Polito got plate No. 2 while Ben Affleck paid $50,000 for No. 1 at a charity auction. Many low-number plates went to people connected to the Jimmy Fund and the Red Sox. [WBZ]
