In May of 2010, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center chose to fine, but not fire CEO Paul Levy because of his relationship with a female employee. Today, Levy announced he will resign and said it was unrelated to last year's scandal. Levy said he decided to leave Beth Israel after turning 60 and spending time on a mountain bike trip to Africa. Really. Mark Sanford wishes he had that excuse in his backpocket. He said his resignation was unrelated to the scandal. Levy also said he leaves the hospital a "financial success." []

Boston Mayor Tom Menino thinks City Councilor Chuck Turner, 77, should resign from the council because of his conviction for taking a bribe and lying about it in October during a corruption probe. Menino said he'd miss Turner "challenging" him.
Dianne Wilkerson's dramatic saga continues, but her reelection campaign doesn't. After clergy members and minority leaders called for the accused senator to resign, she has (according to the Globe) at least canceled her reelection campaign, but not officially resigned from the senate. Wilkerson says she'll make that decision on November 5. Already bested by Sonia Chang-Diaz in an election and a recount, Wilkerson had been planning to continue her write-in reelection campaign despite recent charges of accepting bribes. The state senate passed a resolution on Thursday asking Wilkerson to resign, and is now taking steps toward a vote to expel her.
